Scouts in Hawthorn
West Hawthorn Scout Group is a volunteer-run Scout group on Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn, in Melbourne’s inner east. Our Scouts plan and lead their own adventures in Patrols: weekend camps, hikes, climbing, canoeing and bike hikes, plus service in the local community.
We’re part of Scouts Victoria and Scouts Australia, and our hall is easy to reach from Hawthorn East, Kew, Kooyong, Malvern, Toorak, Glen Iris and Camberwell.

When and where do Scouts meet?
Our Scouts meet on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Kennon Hall, 464 Glenferrie Rd, Hawthorn VIC 3122.
Who can join West Hawthorn Scouts?
Young people aged 11 to 14 can join our Scout unit. Scouting in Victoria runs from Joey Scouts (5 to 8) through Cub Scouts, Scouts and Venturer Scouts to Rover Scouts (18 to 25).
How do I join Scouts in Hawthorn?
Book a trial night through Scouts Victoria, or email our Group Leader at gl.westhawthorn@scoutsvictoria.com.au. Come along on a Wednesday night, meet the Patrol and see what Scouts is like.
How much does Scouts cost?
Scouts Victoria lists the current joining fee on West Hawthorn’s group page. Some activities, like climbing days, have their own small cost.
Can adults volunteer as leaders or helpers?
Yes. Our leaders and helpers are volunteers, and Scouts Victoria trains adults for the role. Email our Group Leader if you’d like to help.

Our hall is on Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn, on the route 16 tram, and easy to reach from Hawthorn East, Kew, Kooyong, Malvern, Toorak, Glen Iris and Camberwell.
